It all started with a 78 Scarab 300 , all new deck , changed the cockpit , Race bulkheads , Flipped over now making changes to the bottom. It has been a long project and we are starting to get a little frustrated now, especially since I have a super clean 38 fever with no power sitting around.

So the 30 was not based off of Jim's 34?

So what was the outcome of this discussion? Did anyone end up buying the 34' Python. I too found one in some classifieds, and it seems like a really good deal and looks nice in the pics. Even has the HP500 efi's. Does anyone know how these handle in the rough water? Any comments on handling period? Someone mentioned a narrow hull, is this true?

It looks like it sits extremely low in the water.

I have my eye on several 32's and a 35' Fountains (my favorites), but trying to keep an open mind...

I'd love to hear all you guys experience and opinions.

My experience with the 24 python was great. I was suprised at how good it handled the rough. No stress cracks on the 1992 when I sold it. Strong hull and plenty fast in comparison to similar sized boats.

Great boats! I highly recommend a Python. The 34 is extremely fast for a straight bottom boat.

I really like it, but I am afraid to get involved with it since they arent made anymore. What if I needed replacement parts? Just gonna stick with the Fountains that I like.

I would take the 34 over a 35 Fountain anyday and all replacement parts would either be made by other vendors or easily repaired in fiberglass.

REALLY? Can you tell me why? PM me if you'd like. I really like the way the Python looks, and the features it has.

I don't think they fabricated many parts, if any at all. It shouldn't be that hard to fix anything that comes up and there are plenty of custom shops around. OSO can also help with just about anything you need.
