Kurt, Looks like we are going to have to repower, that 454 thats in the baja it is a 2 bolt bluewater block with all cast internals and i am not going to spend the money on that block to switch to forged parts. I think i saw in one of your post that you had bought a couple of motors from 1800runsnew. in Mass i am considering buying there 502/502 HO did you have good luck with there engines? any info would be helpful, and yes if you want to come over and lend a hand you are more then welcome i will be up to jimmys shop the week of 3/18 to start tearing it down as long as i have a motor by then. Jim is still trying to hunt down a Bravo 1 transom assembley for me. Talk to you soon, Jeff

Hi Jeff, I had great results with 1800 runsnew although the 502/502 might not work too well considering the application. The cam will be wrong for a blower application and you really should have a set of heads made up for that application also. The valves in those motors are 2 piece and you WILL drop a valve. Go with Manley severe duty stainless intake and Inconel exhaust valves. Look up Jeff Cox, Jimmy knows him, in Windham, He can build you a set of heads for reasonable money.
Another avenue to check out might be to buy a 502/502 shortblock and install your own cam and heads.
Call me if I can be of help, Kurt
