Question Garmin or North Star?

Whats your thoughts for a performance boat?

I have had both. I think Garmins are easier to use.

Garmin better screen, more features, easier to use.
Northstar still a great unit, lots of aftermarket faceplates available

If you really want the good stuff, no questions, and no contest go with Furuno.

GARMIN,,NORTH STAR ARE VERY UN ACCURATE !!!

The MPH on the northstar says 8 mph slower then the garmin and Gaffrig !!!

I like the north star units. had 2 of them. mine were easy to use.

? shouldnt be DD...

I believe they are all WAAS augmented GPS units they should be within a 10nth or so.

Does Gaffrig make a GPS? Or just speedometers that are GPS enabled?

They should all read within a MPH or two of one another in almost all circumstances unless a "correction factor" is enabled at the setup screen of either.

Maybe one was set to knots and the other MPH?
