BoatUS has won several lawsuits against SeaTow, including one that was in the US Supreme Court.
What lawsuits are you talking about? I would enjoy reading the decisions if you could produce them... Although that would be very hard to do since no such suits exist. Before you post, please make sure your facts are straight.

I have had unlimited TowBoatUS since I started boating. Had to use them twice this year, were always fast and easy to deal with. I will be a member as long as I ow a boat, money well spent for piece of mind.

I must be the odd man out, have had Sea Tow for 8 years now first in the Florida Keys and now in the highland Lakes in texas.
Never had a problem, they have never charged me for anything and have actually put a boat in a lake they didnt even cover just to tow me out here in Texas and had one of them drive me almost 100 miles in Florida so I could get my trailer at NO charge. All for 79 a year. Im very happy with them but cant say they are the same in other areas since I have no experience there.

VtSteve,
Apparently a suit does exist, my bad. It must only be against an operator who was a licensee at the time, hence not in our legal files. This was all before Sea Tow became a franchise organization in 2000 and around the time that Sea Tow stopped towing for Boat US and they were getting their operators organized. An interesting time to say the least…
The best advice I can give anyone on a marine assistance membership is to get both companies, this way if one is busy or not in the region, you can get the other.
Joe
