Space is restricted from pick up to the strainers and the strainers can take the 40-60# the upper speed generate. I would not risk engines and chillers with those pressures for any length of time in my very humble opinion.

GL couldn't you put a dump before the strainer as well to keep that area's water preasure down?

Back in college, a buddy and I build a turbo system for his 1971 Datsun 240Z. We used the hot side from a 280ZXT, but welded the two side draft intakes together with a common plenum and piped the turbo outlet directly into the welded intake. We fed the turbo with a Holley 390CFM 4160. If I had a dollar for ever skeptic that told me it wouldn't work, I could have easily paid off the $250 we spent on the entire project. :D I heard everything from "gas won't flow uphill" to "you're going to blow the compressor seal out in five seconds". 30,000 miles and three Northern Michigan Winters later, she was still running like a champ (ran low 13's all day long... which was fast for a couple of cheap college kids). Great looking motors. I applaud your originality and ingenuity. -B |

Nice videos, also watched the others ( 160 mph at 3 lbs of boost ). I know you had final tweaks to finalize after the shoot out event. Is 3 lbs of boost your daily set up for this engine package? I remember you saying thr boost gauge would be pegged for the shoot out.... Anyways interested where you plan to run it at on your daily basis once all is dialed in and your happy with the whole set up. Everything turned out great, great looking package. Thanks Jon |
