I bet the time from start of breach till the whale hit the boat was MAYBE two seconds. A pro throttleman MIGHT have reacted fast enough, but the shock of seeing the whale would probably have frozen his muscles. Even Mongo's Magic Throttle Arm would've been too slow. :D
I was kidding. You know my sense of humor. Are you having a bad day? Plus, if the boat was propped for top speed than low-end acceleration would have been compromised, so even the best throttleman on the planet wouldn't have stood a chance. But I digress. |
