I'm so sorry to hear that. I know they usually don't treat dogs that are over 15 yrs old, but I thought your dog wasn't that old? Mine is almost 8 yrs, so I was initially scared of being turned down for trmt.

Has she started throwing up white foamy stuff or losing weight? Did they make judgement based on xrays or solely on age/weight?

I hope there is something you guys can do for yourselves or the dog. Give her more treats, take her out, play with her more, that way you won't feel as bad.

I've been feeling really bad @ neglecting her heartworm pills. If she makes it thru this, I hope I never miss her pills. Sometimes, we have to learn the hard way.
