Before I drop $500+ later this week when my Alpha is finished I need a second opinion on prop selection. 89 Stingray (svc200) 20ft, 3000# Max, 260HP/Alpha 1.50. Was using a 23P QS and it seemed to lug and wouldn't only get 4K-4100RPM WOT @60mph until I hit that rock that broke a H shaft, bent the prop shaft, broke the skeg, wacked 2 blades. I was thinking of going to a Mirage+ 21P but they also list the LaserII being good for ALPHAs. Please help me make the $$$ choice. I like to ski and board usually with light loads.

See if you can find someplace that will let you try out the props that you think will work. The only real way to know what works best on your boat is to try.
For what it's worth, I looked at a 21 Mirage for my 16 Donzi before I sold it, and that prop did quite well. She had a carbed 5.7 Merc and weighed a little less than your boat.

My last boat was a 21 ft Four Winns Liberator with a 350 MAG/Alpha. I tried both a 21 pitch laser and a 21 pitch mirage. I could only push the mirage to 4200 RPM. I got 4700 rpm out of the laser with a top end of around 53 mph. I would try the laser.

For what it's worth...I'm running a 350Mag/Alpha in my '88 Donzi Z21 - I finally got a GPS speed with my Mirage Plus 21 this weekend and it's pretty dissapointing. 50.4 @ 4100 - I'm looking into a LaserII also just because I can't seem to spin the Mirage...good luck. Keep us posted!!
