Default Prop Shop Question Damaged prop

I hit bottom today and damaged one of my props. It is very light tip damage. This prop is a lake prop that I put on my boat before I rebuilt my engine. It is a merc QA4 18 pitch 14.5 alum prop. With my new engine I can easily spin over 5K. I really do not need any more top end the boat is very quick. The hole shot is great and I have no problems with this prop. I have a 1 to 1:62 drive.

Because I do beach the boat often I prefer alum to stainless. Is it worth while to try and change an aluminum prop? Does aluminum flex too much to be modified? I am thinking about putting this prop in a box and in the winter shipping it to one of the offshore member prop shops. I have thought about adding more pitch to the prop to get the rpm down. What would this cost compared to just getting the prop repaired. Do you think the hole shot would get better or worse. Would i notice any performance difference. Is there any trade in value towards a 20 pitch 3 blade prop or a 21 three blade prop. Would it be better to buy a new prop rather than trying to increase the pitch on this prop? What month should I send it in to get the best deal? My spare 19 pitch 3 blade is in good shape so I am in no rush to get this one repaired.

Thanks

HELLO! THANKS FOR THANKING OF THE MEMBERS HERE.
Houston Propeller can easily repair your aluminum prop and change the pitch up to 3 inches, any more than that we will have blade distoration and it will not perform correctly.to repair a aluminum prop in your size would be 65.00 welding included also if you want to change the pitch add 15.00 dollars, the prop will look and perform like a new one ,maybe better.
