Thnik about it carefully and you can answer this question very easily:
A performance boat builder is going to build and offer a $200K-$300K new boat. He is going to save $8K total using twin 8.2HO's w/Bravo IX drives versus twin HP525EFI's w/Bravo XR's???
No Way, absolutely no way he is going to risk the ultimate sale of that boat for that little savings and any customers who can afford to buy that boat are going to opt down for that little savings.

Plus if the difference of cost is say $30k we are going to make 30% on the extra $30k which brings it to $39k.
Profit is not a dirty word.

You are stictly thinking OEM cost of engine packages. You have a bunch of expense in rigging Hi-Perf engines vs. standard pakcages.

It is correct, and it is retail. You were the one that started making claims about "OEM" pricing, which I personally don't see any relevance in as no one but the OEM's pay that price.

I am not trying to be an azz, I am just looking for clarification.
I obviously don't price out new boats as a habit but I do remember seeing pricing on websites a few years ago. Going off memory going from a 496HO/X to a 525/XR was about a $25k upgrade. Now, I'm sure the 502HO with catalyst is more expensive than a 496HO.
I guess what I'm saying is I find it hard to believe that there is over 100% mark-up form "OEM" to retail pricing.
