No Way, absolutely no way he is going to risk the ultimate sale of that boat for that little savings and any customers who can afford to buy that boat are going to opt down for that little savings.
Exactly! Someone has to know the actual cost of the upgrade. I still am betting its about $35k.

You are stictly thinking OEM cost of engine packages. You have a bunch of expense in rigging Hi-Perf engines vs. standard pakcages.

Plus if the difference of cost is say $30k we are going to make 30% on the extra $30k which brings it to $39k.

Profit is not a dirty word.

I was just taking a guess. I know it's not $8k!

And I agree profit is not a dirty word.

What exactly is the rigging difference in a 8.2 ho package vs. a 525 package, I'm very curious to know. If your getting 30 percent profit in this economy congratulations, and yes the difference was just the Oem price difference . There is actually 8k difference between each set not 4k. The original price on the ho package someone else posted was not correct.

It is correct, and it is retail. You were the one that started making claims about "OEM" pricing, which I personally don't see any relevance in as no one but the OEM's pay that price.

I'm guessing that 30% number represents gross, not net. Still gotta account for paying the rent and light bills...

I'd guess net profit is probably less than a 1/3 of that.

So, now it's $8k difference per set not $4k? How is it that you knew the 525 "OEM" pricing but not the 502HO "OEM" pricing?

I am not trying to be an azz, I am just looking for clarification.

I obviously don't price out new boats as a habit but I do remember seeing pricing on websites a few years ago. Going off memory going from a 496HO/X to a 525/XR was about a $25k upgrade. Now, I'm sure the 502HO with catalyst is more expensive than a 496HO.

I guess what I'm saying is I find it hard to believe that there is over 100% mark-up form "OEM" to retail pricing.

Found some retail pricing. Going from twin 502HO/X to 525/XR is a $58,000 upgrade.

Originalronza, so you're saying there's a $42,000 difference between "OEM" and retail pricing? Minus any additional labor.
