I was just reading in "Prop Talk" a local boating puiblication, they are expecting to be released for sale this summer. Although they have been advertising 7 marine was still testing this motor. |

These 557's from what I have been told are being refined over and over so as when they hit the market the majority of the R&D has been done vs making the consumer the guinee pig....I can apprieciate that..hopefully a few will have been sold so we all can get some feedback.. We posted here not to spam, but to let you guys, who we do recognize as a significant piece of the marketplace and value accordingly, know that we will be at Miami this year (booth U90, slip 410) and we WILL be releasing performance and fuel burn numbers when the show opens. And if you won't be at the show, we'll be posting all the info and fuel charts on our website, our Facebook page, and here. Please know that we would love to be able to disclose everything right now, as the anticipation is eating at us as well, but cannot and will not do so prior to Miami. Liken this to a movie release; if a new film releases on a Friday, the studio does not leak it to the internet the week before... IIRC a 2 stroke 300 weighs 505lbs. A 4 stroke 300 weighs 630lbs. So four 4 strokes weigh 2520lbs. Unless my figures are not correct... |

On the D.I. 2 strokes a 300 E-Tec is 528lbs X 4 = 2112 Most of the mfgs weight claims aren't even close either. Seen them weighed independently in boat mags and most recently on Ship Shape TV. I think a 200 Verado was 680lbs! add 20 for fluids and we're @ 700 lb's X 4 = 2800! I've been around several large dealers and fichse bote builders to hear their concerns of transom loading. Most are probably fine at this point but when the 4 strokes hit the market most were not. Worked at one dealer that sold a new, very popular brand 33' fische bote w/triple 350 Yammi's on it and it was breaking trim tab rams trying to keep the thing on plane at low speeds. Owner and Captain got stuck coming through the Gulf Stream off plane due to this. Too rough to plane and wouldn't stay up at low speed due to tab issues. Also kinda curious how Yammi can claim their new 250 HO is lighter than the 2 strokes when they don't have 4 cam shafts, 24 valves, timing belts and pulleys etc, etc. Waiting to see that one on a fish scale too ;) |

It's all about the ride on these types of cats...and with said power get the best fuel economy. They are made to troll at low speeds, get up on plane quickly, and there is no hop. My goal is to make a 34-37'x 11' stepped version that will be in the 80+mph range. Thanks Jeff |

GM used to have a marine version of the LSA on their website listed. That was before the bailout, who knows what happened to it from there. If Seven was smart, they let GM do the R&D.
