Absolutely. The only way it should be off is if it never was right to begin with(which you will never know) or if the block was align bored to death.

The important thing is to have the original mount plates, since that is where the tolerances come in. If you have the original plates then the engines should be perfect. My boat has had three different engines, same plate, no alignment issues.
