I will add there is no info in any marine owners manual nor never taught in any marine OEM schools to use starting fluid for anything related to marine. It is one of the dumbest things you can do to your marine engine plus the dangerous effects that can take place using it. And to add another dumb thing is seeing a ton of cans of sea foam and or starting fluid in the boat laying on the floor in the hot sun -

If you even need one drop of starting fluid to get your boat engine started / running - YOU have a mechanical problem that needs to be address and fixed properly.

Bup, you said it, You wont believe the bottles I find floating in engine compartments and stuffed away in the cockpits, unbelievable. A big no -no with mercury marine..
