Maybe heck go out and eat like pigs - New York really has a lot great places to eat that you can not get anywhere else especially Italian food. Damn I miss some of the food NY has to offer.

If not, if you have a car, you could day trip it to Fire Island. (Ocean Beach)
Good times. Just don't grab the wrong boat and up in the pines or cherry grove. It will change your life forever hahaa!

Too bad that the Beast is in hibernation this time of year.

You'll enjoy NYC. I spent 3 days in NYC over the 4th of July weekend with my son, and we had a fantastic time. If you can, buy the 1 week subway pass (available to buy with cash only)...you get to ride unlimited your entire visit. For things to do...the Intrepid is great, the view is incredible from the top of the Freedom Tower (VIP pass is worth skipping the line, you can order via your smartphone right there), the top of the Rock is also good at night. Pizza in Little Italy, Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, etc. Tons of great things to do. Enjoy!!

Nothing to do with water, just a suggestion to kill some time...... Drink a few beers @ Jimmy's #43 if you find yourself in that area and like great beer. Used to be a fun watering hole when I was constantly up there for work. East Village near 7th and 2nd. Same block as McSorely's if you want above ground and more "known" (touristy). I think they claim that one to be the oldest in the city. Heck, might as well hit them both if you are over there.

There are great places to eat drink and see all over NYC.

If you want to take a ferry ride from the World Trade Center to Liberty Landing Marina, there is a great restaurant called "The Liberty House" (Lunch 12-3) which has some of the best food and views of lower Manhattan you will ever see. Great for a lunch trip to see the harbor, have lunch and return to NYC for an Italian dinner.
