You guys have it all wrong...once you figure out how to play with these guys...you almost BEG them to call. I get them so damn confused and twisted sometimes that they just wind up hanging up on me....it's a riot....hahahah.....
Yes...they are a pain, but there are worse things to worry about....

Wes311 nailed it. (let alone they need to get a real job)......but some of the best calls are....(and here is where you wish there was one of those Dr.No buttons that #1 used to fry the one guy....)...............
** Call#1 **
Phone: ring ring
Me: Hello.......Hello.......(silence) These are the people that use technology and dont want to really speak with you, just use about 10minutes of your recorder time.
Me: CLICK
**Call#2**
Phone: ring ring
TM: "Please hold for an important call......"
ME: Now Im thinking, if it was that important your A$$ would be on the line now wouldn't it.
ME: CLICK
**Call#3 **
TM: Hello Mr.X, you still living at 5555 Street?
ME: Yes, and whats this in reference to.
TM: Well, we'd like to put Vinyl siding.......house.
ME: Well. This is a new brick house (If you had done your homework you A$$).
ME: CLICK
**Call#4 ** >>> AND THE AWARD WINNER <<<
TM: Hello Mr......and they can not even come close to getting your last name right.........
ME: CLICK
Now if we could only get one of these kids that create these MS viruses to wipe out all of the TM servers and do some good in the world.......count me in.

One of the telemarketing companies claimed the "No Sales Call List" is violating their right to free speech.
I'm all for free speech, right up to where it infringes on my right to privacy.
The news said that there's something like 50 million people signed up for this. I would think that make a clear statement that we don't want these calls.
If I heard it right they aren't just fighting the creation of this list but it's also the fact that the Federal Trade Commission is the one that did it. It should've come from the FCC.
Since the wife and I both have wireless phones the house line isn't used except for the security system. It only costs me $25.00 a month to keep it active and right now there isn't a phone hooked up to it.
When I have to give out a home phone number and I feel I'll be getting calls I might not want I'll list the house line.

If I'm in the mood, I play with them..... I told one lady from AT&T that my family and I had Magic Beans and I didn't need AT&T. She then said... "Oh yea, how much are you paying them for long distance?" She was serious too!!! I told her my name was Jack and I started to explain the whole beanstalk thing and suddenly realized that I wasn't dealing with the most intelligent person on the planet and hung up.
If I'm not in the mood, I tell them that they have made a huge mistake and called my cell phone and I am being charged for the call. Seems to work because my unwanted calls at home have dropped some.
One day I even got a call form AT&T while I was at work. I work for Verizon BTW. I answered "Verizon",and the lady started with the sales speech and I had to just about yell to interrupt her and told her that this was Verizon..........A competitor of AT&T.... She had never heard of Verizon. WTF???

Watching CNN when I came home last night they had on someone from the house of reps. that said they signed their version of a bill that would give the FTC the clear authority to make the DNC list. He also said he thought the Senate would have their version signed today (Thursday) and both of them would act on it by the end of Thursday to make sure the DNC list still goes into effect on October 1st. We'll see what happens!!
