Those that know me can attest that I'm a BIG guy. Roominess is a huge priority to me. I've found Velocity's to be one of the roomiest in my opinion. I've never bothered checking out Formula of Fountain, just because I don't care for either brand. I'm going to check them out now just for fun.

I was shopping around in the 27 to 29 foot range myself a while back, looked at a 292 formula, it was a nice boat, build quality was excellent, also looked at a fountain, nice boat, was solid in every way, I ended up buying a used 29 outlaw after shopping for a while, for the price of a new 292, are a fever are 29 outlaw, you might as well add some cash to it and buy something bigger, buy the biggest you can afford are you might be shopping again real soon,

Maybe a 27' just isn't big enough for you. My older 272 is like a new 292 in size. I'm 6' 210 lb. My last boat was 21' and guess what? It was to small
As far as being a POS....well.....perhaps to you. I'm sure the Porters don't think so

CAMPION CHASE 800!!! CAMPION CHASE 800!!! CAMPION CHASE 800!!! One of the few 26-27' boats that if you're over 6' you can actually fit behind the wheel and drive in comfort!!! The Baja is another, but the Chase800 has a better hull for speed and handling. Velocity has cockpit room, but is cramp down below headroom wise compared to the Campion Chase800. Problem is finding one as its a Canadian built boat.
