I have a set of Halo's for regular Bravo One, friends can't see my drives when we're running together, too much water being sprayed on them. I think they make a Summit model for the XR's.

of base question here. I always ran drive showers.

How come they don't come factory installed if they work so well? MY buddy says they want your drive to break. That's why they don't install them and they don't run synthetic fluids.

I've heard the same argument, and it does make a little sense. I think Formula now installs the Halo's on all their new boats over 35'.

Perhaps Merc feels the temps reached without a shower are within their acceptable limits. Warranty period is all that matters to them. I don't know the answer. What makes more sense to me is keeping the temps down would seem to increase the longevity of the drive.

I put the new Teague showers on our Cig with the 90 degree tip. No more chalk on top of the drives now.
