Water Leak - Thru hull water pick ups
I finally found the source of my small water leak. While under way at more than idle speed, water seems to be coming up through the hull water pickup. I looked under the boat while it was on the lift and it looks like the tubes start about 1/8" up the holes. This leaves a small amount of exposed glass before the tubes start. I assume water is going up outside the tubes. The right way to fix these would be to remove the pickups from inside the hull, and reseal them. To do this I would have to remove the inside headers (removing 1 engine would make it very easy). Is there anything I can do temporarily until the end of the season to slow down the water intrusion? Maybe single layer of glass around edge? Would that disrupt the water flow? Or should I go ahead and take the time to fix these correctly?
Thanks,
Doug
