We have a waiting list started but we haven't sold any for the 525EFI because we haven't tested the new ECM yet. We are looking for a volunteer right now for installation of the system and reprogramming of the ECM; testing to be done this fall.
Physically the system mounts the same as the 500EFI, but there are differences. We use the 500EFI throttle body because it has the IAC integrated into it instead of stuck onto the back of the manifold. We supply a new larger heat exchanger for the closed cooling system that must be mounted remotely, and the computer is changed to a different ECM that retains the coil packs and crank trigger ignition. This is necessary because so far no one has cracked the code on the PCM555 ECM. That means no Smartcraft gauges but the new ECM can drive the Racepak digital display instead.
The 500EFI system makes 800 HP @ 7 psi, but we expect the 525EFI to do better because it has better heads, cam and exhaust. This is a lot to ask of a stock production block so we change rod bolts, head gaskets and use better springs and roller lifters for more RPM headroom. 63 lb/min injectors will be required.
Anyone interested in participating please call me directly. Depending on your location we will use different programmers and dynos, but the short list right now is Mark @ Precision Marine, Jim @ Arizona Speed and Marine, Tyler @ Crockett Marine.
Thanks,
Tom Robinson
