So can a MT2500 be updated to current vehicles, including benz, or is a solus/modus the only way to go?

I think you have to trade up to a solus. A pen always made me the most $$$. On a warranty claim creative writing pays the bills.

I have a launch and a snap on. I wouldn't say either one blows away the other. The Launch is great for European cars. As far as domestic it sucks the software isn't what it needs to be and is very problematic. My Launch was more like 3800. I have a Solus Pro that I really like and use it for domestic and Asian. One nice thing about the Launch over the snap on is it can be used as a pass through and program keys. Snap on you cannot. But snap on does make a pass through for $1800. Snap on doesn't offer anything to program keys...

i ment the Mercedes part..i know what you mean about domestic..i too have several others that i use..they all have their specialties..i bought the 8k motis years ago and it burnt its self out on the charger,,snapon would not warr it so im never buying another snapon scan tool again..

If you have ever taken an old motor out and apart that's been used in a boat a breaker bar is near the top of the list.
