Default Hone finish question

OK guys i am looking at freshening up my 540. it is out of the boat and i am looking at finding a bead hone that will put down a 400 finish for the correct finish for plasma molly rings. Does anyone here know where i could find something like that. I have about 60hrs on my current combo and just need to break the glaze. Or will the standard 220 grit bead hone leave a acceptable finish for plasma file fit rings?

Take it to a trusted local shop and they will deglaze it with a good hone or honing machine.
Leave the ball hone in the drawer.

I agree, a ball hone is not going to give you the right finish. Bring it to a machine shop.

You need to put a torque plate back on the block and rehone it in a honing machine. Did you hone it with a torque plate the first time??

TC, you forgot to tell him to put the ball hone in a glass case up on the mantle.
