At Bam's web site there is a chart that lists the differences between the drives. There are too many to list, but bigger shafts and stronger straight cut gears.
How much hp and torque all depends on application and driving ability. I have lots of stories of customers pushing the limits, but they will all fail eventually. The most hp and torque is a 25 Baja H2x with 1400hp and 1000' torque at 3500rpm at 1/2 throttle on the dyno.. So far only 15 hard passes but it looks like brand new inside. But that is the extreme and there are things I have done with it to help it live. It may only live for one more pass before something lets go, but we try to stay ahead of the curve on that. Time will tell.
So what are you running? Boat, weight, hp, torque... and how do u drive it.
Hope this helps.

I'm in the same boat.
I have a 35 Cafe Racer with new power pushing just over 625 hp and 700 torque. I haven't run the boat yet and everyone is telling me I'm just going to blow the bravo's up that I need to move up to the XR. Let me know what you find out and good luck. I've heard a lot say that the bravo will handle a lot more power and torque than it's rated for but a lot of it depends on how you drive it and the weight of the boat. My Cig is heavy that's why they say I don't stand a chance.
Good luck!

I'm runnig a 27' Baja w/a 572 making over 1000hp thru a Bravo1. I made it thru the summer w/out blowing it up.....many 90+ mph runs.. It all depends on how you apply the power.....Even supprised
Mr. Gadgets, who built the drive....Though this year we are going to
a built up XZ. ....Planning on thing this one apart to see what it look like inside.
