Default Merc Alarm system

I switched from MPI to a carburetor. The alarm goes off from the time I turn the key untill it starts and gets oil pressure. There must have been a timmer in the ecu.
Is there a way to add a timmer or do I need a different alarm?
Any ideas?

Mike

My carb engines all had about 10-20 second delay before the alarm would sound with the key turned to on.

I added an alarm system (low oil pressure and over temp)to my carb Volvo Penta and used a solid state timer in the system, dialed it in to where it barely gets oil pressure when it starts. I can't recall where i found it (can look tomorrow) but this is similar.

Could just buy the alarm timer/buzzer from Merc. that is used on the carbed motors.
Boatfix has the unit for around $30

I found a wire harness from an HP 500. I want to sell the fuel injection set up, so I didn't want to cut up a perfectly good harness.
