Default Head guru's....got a question for ya!!

Hey head guru's,

I have a 96 502mpi with a Whipple on it.

Stock heads with the only upgrade being the HP crane gold roller rockers.

It does have stainless marine exhaust with 17" extended risers.

The engine was rebuilt with zero gap rings. I figure I'm putting out around 615 to 640 HP??????

1.Is there porting work that can be done to the stock heads to get more HP?
2.Or would it be better to buy another brand of heads already ported and polished and bolt them on? If so, what should I buy?
3.With the HP gain would I have to buy bigger injectors and reprogram the ECU again? I think I'm limited on the air intake with the mpi intake?????

Any input on this would be appreciated!!

Thanks,
Shawn

Default Heads

Yes, you will gain by having some port work. I would recommend a partial chamber port, full exhaust port, 2.250 intake valve and bowl port and some short turn work on the intake side. You will end up with a 125cc chamber volume and about 40hp
