Angry yet another alignment question

ok,,, the 454 is gone and the 502 is in, but the alignment is off. I am rubbing hard on the top of the alignment tool, if I loosen the rear mounts it goes in nice,,, do the rear mounts have to be cranked down hard, or will the spring hold the nut from backing off, or can I shim the motor up more in the rear,,,, I tried lowering the front but bottomed out,, getting fed up guys,,,,,, help !!!!

Dennis,
Give me a call after 10 am. I would think it should have lined up perfectly. Did you place the large washer’s back on the rear motor mount? Did the Gimbal bearing possibly get moved when you removed the drive?

Bravo? The rear mounts in the flywheel housing may have collapsed. They are just rubber molded mounts and with enough pounding the center tube can move up which effectively lowers the rear of the motor and makes alingment impossible. If so, you my have to get new ones. Items 2 and 3 like candyman said.

I would change them out with the new pieces and then you know what you got. Call Triplex he may have them in stock 708-849-2200 ask for Larry or Todd.

Good luck

Mark
