urgent engien alignment tech question
(hey board god leave it here in general for a couple hours!!!)
ok My engine is just abuot properly aligned. I hav eth tool indexing withe the coupler no prop BUT how smooth does it have to be? It goes in with no hangups but it feels like it might be touching on the top of the engein coupler. It is coated with grease and i can see marks from eth spline when i pull it ut BUT the marks ar eon eth top and bottom of the tool (in the grease). They seem to be a little heavier on the top of the tool. Overall eth tool pulls in and out pretty smoothly.
So are we talkgin it shodul be silky smooth or requires a little pull to get it in and out.

silky smooth or stiff!!!
puder,
I have had some engine alignments silky smooth and others were you have to use a hand to remove it with a slight twist. If you install the tool and it bottoms out and you don't have to beat it in or push it in with the palm of your hand, thats pretty good. Pulling it out should be almost as easy. You may have to twist it slightly to get it out but not pulling on it with 2 hands. You should be able to put it in and out with one hand and no excessive force.
Sounds like you got it to me.
