i get $90.00 per hour..alot of people say oh it takes 3 to 4 hours to r&r a engine.that does not include transfer of any parts but can be done ??.yeah thats if your a hack! and your not check drive aleignment and looking over the boat..do they also take into concideration how much my shop keepers insurance costs?? that alont would almost make a payment on a new vette..

We charge 10 hours per engine. Drop it off, pick it up. Sometimes it's a pretty easy job, sometimes it takes a contortionist to get them in and out. Price is the same either way. Labor rate is a very local thing so you really can't compare different parts of the country.

Don't forget that there's two guys working on it at times. Helping lift the hatches off, the exhaust pieces, and lifting and guiding the engine out. Then there's the sea trial which takes time. Once that's done there's a final inspection.
