Default Hydraulic steering set up..

I'm working on piecing together a hydraulic steering setup for my Corsa..

I came across a set of Latham 7" stroke rams so it'll all fit between my trim tabs..

Trying to figure out which helm to go with..

Using a cylinder volume calculator I come up with needing I come up with 22.14 cubic inches needed to go from lock to lock..

SO, If I go with a 6 in³ helm it'll be 3.6 turns and if I go with a 7.56 in³ it'll be 2.9 turns lock to lock...

....and of course there is nothing in between the two...

Which one would you go with ??

THANKS !!

2.9 turns! When I bought my full Zeiger system I was warned by others to specify a 120 cc (7.322849in³) helm to get just under 3 turns lock to lock. Otherwise I'd end up with 4 turns or more.

That's the direction I'm leaning, but my fear is that my steering may end up too "twitchy" at 100+ mph...

getting the helm unit mounted correctly is a HUGE deal, the slightest bind to one side will make it twichy as hell !!! had to have a custom column made to get my 253 right

I like twitchy or responsive it takes a lot less effort to drive through chine walk with a responsive helm. I've ran both and I'll take twichy any day.

Yes, there is a pressure and return and they need to be correct. Then there is a left and right and they need to be correct otherwise the boat will turn the opposite way.

But does it go straight up , it will get in the way of the dash wiring, it would be a lot better if it came out the side?
