Help! Engine alignment question
The alignment tool is 1/16" away from the bell housing on the bottom, and touching at the top. The NON-offshore motor mounts were new last Aug, and the locking washer was tight on the bottom nut on the motor mounts. The top nut is fighting me, and winning.
Question is: Is 1/16" close enough on a TRS BW 410 hp big block? (please say yes please say yes please say yes)

I'm just assuming that you're talking about a B/W-4 point mount TRS system, not the MerCtransII. Anyway, If you mean that the alignment tool disc is 1/16" from square at the housing, You DO need to make a correction. Just to the front mount if it's a MerCtrans obivously; but an overall assesment is in order if it's the B/W- 4-pt. mount. --- Jer

Yes, the Borg Warner trany, with two front motor mounts, and two on the tail stock resting on the gimbal housing. I torqued the rear two to 40 lbs, and am now fighting with the front. My 18 inch long open end wrench is not helping on the sb engine. guess it is time to go buy an adjustable wench that is shorter.
