Prop suggestions for new 271 power
Powerboat gurus -
1999 Formula 271 Fastech
Can you guys take an educated guess at what I will need for a prop?
Old power:
415HP 502 MPI....bone stock
26p B1 4-blade, 1.65 ratio
60mph @ 4900 rpm
1700' elev
New power:
Whipplecharged 502MPI, IMCO exhaust, 650HP(?)
rev limiter at approx. 5300(guessing)
Also, how will lab finishing effect my pitch selection?

try them out/EASY ON LABBING
try several different props such as a Mirage plus 27 and 29 pitch ??
four blade selection try the 26 and a 28 Bravo-one these would be good starting props and get some numbers and go from there, maybe there are some members that have some props laying around they might let you try.
wished we had some higher pitched stuff for you to try, but we do not at this time,
good luck,>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I would bet a 27 Mirage plus converted to the ACCLERATOR would work wonders.it's 100%guaranteed.
with this much hp, I personally would not go with a hydromotive as they fatigue under this much hp and will break. what ever prop you go with it can not be very THIN or it will BREAK.
