hp500efi rev limiter
Does anyone know where the rev limiter is set at from the factory on the 2000 model hp500efi?
If I hit the limiter, will it "bang" the limiter or just allow me to run at the limit?
The reason I ask is I tried some new props and I am not sure if the engine was limited or if it did not have enough power to spin them faster.
thanks in advance

I think it is at 5250 also, I run right at 5250-5300 I have never had it bang or even back down, but I usually only run WOT for 10-30 seconds by then either out of straight away or seadoo coming at me. Mine is a 2001 500efi purchased in 2000

Re: hp500efi rev limiter
I have 2000 500 EFI'S and you will definately feel the boat "slow down" as you hit the limiter @5250. It feels like you shut the key off momentarily. I would not recommend hitting you limiters regularily as the 500's cut fuel to the motor as "their" limiter when it needs it the most. (at least thats my understanding) I just had mine raised to 5900 and regularily run 55-5600 with no problems, but I did put new valve springs on (150hrs)
