Was a popular addition to turbo motors. Did a great job dropping charge temps and suppressing detonation.

Was the thing to do 20 yrs ago,i remember the kits for it,they wanted you to mix isopropyl alcohol in it too but not sure if that was to keep it from freezing or it did something. PAW in california had them in there catalog years ago, don't know if they still do,Smitty

Question Re: water injection on blower motors?

they ran water for low boost water/alchohol for higher boost and straight alchohol for full kill setting alchohol evaps so fast it cools better than water but you need to iingest more. i've only seen and heard of car guys doing it i wonder why marine engine builders don't?

I used it on my turbo'd 350 truck in '75. A bandaid fix to prevent dentonation before intercooling.

I've got a customer that uses it on his Allis Chambers. ..of course it does run 140# of boost and intake temp is usually around 1100 degrees. Get an intercooler.

Maybe some leaky headers or a weeping intercooler would do...

Most of the unlimited race planes at Reno still run water and ADI injection. Of course they are making 4000+HP on 130octane......Oh yeah, and turning almost 500 MPH laps
