Battery Tray Mounting
I need to remount my battery trays.
Originally my battery trays were mounted to the outside of the outer stringers.
The battery trays were designed to be bolted this way so they were thru bolted thru the stringers.
The boxes were more or less hanging shelves for the batteries. (kinda like 1955-56 chevy batteries were mounted to the firewall). The shelves ended up holding the batteries just off the floor of the bilge.
The 21 year old cast aluminum boxes are oxidized and cracked.
I can't seem to find battery boxes that can be mounted this way. Anybody know of any?
I could fab some up........
or
Should I glass some wood into the floor to screw "standard" offshore battery boxes to the floor?
Suggestions?
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Battery Tray Mounting
I just bought 2 from Too Old (Trick Marine) that will bolt that way. They are made by Stainless Marine and are real nice all stainless steel battery boxes fit for a group 24. They cost only $79. Just ask Too Old.
