HP500 Drain plug thread size?
Need to install some oil pan drain hose kits on a pair of 1998 HP500's I can't easily pull the plugs right now to measure them. Are they 1/2-20 or metric? Please be absolutely positive. No guesses please.
Also any suggestions for the best source of these hoses. I have gotten them through Eddie Marine or CP Marine before. I would sure like to find some that didn't use brass threads.
Thanks,

12mm.
The brass end that comes with them will strip real easy. I would suggest getting steel one made. I stripped one with hardly noticing. I decided not to use them until I came up with something better.

Thanks Linster,
If you notice the last sentence of my post, I have recognized that problem. If something goes wrong after install, that means an engine gets pulled. I would sure like to find a source for something better. Anyone?
