Can't wait to hear about those motors in the boat. You will be soooo hapy with your choice on the Whipples
It s a step bottom.

It looks like I can put it beside the drain plug.I guess I can put a stop on the tongue and let about 2 inches hang off the back of the trailer . The boat only sits on the trailer in the winter.

There is only about 2 inches of bunk past the support . I guess I could trim it some .

On the pick up there only talking about 3/8 hanging below the boat as a starting point.

They make a few different types of water pickups. The offshore style is flat . CPPerformance has a adjustable one that would be nice.
Thanks for yawl's input any other suggestions????

In pick 2 . The space to the out side of the bunks is where the stringer is and also they talk about cutting the strake out of it there for over 100mph.

This is the sea strainer I am thinking about .it will have a 1 1/4 hose inlet and I think I can use the 2 1 inch pipe outlets for each innercooler. .Which I would run a # 12 line going in to the innercooler.

Rob,

I got mine from Teague marine. It is not adjustable tube and it looks similar to the one you have pictured from CP performance. Once you mount it, you cut it off at a small angle and you're done. It was about 80 bucks.

I'd go with the style that you cut after install I just dont trust things that are held on by a clamp and hanging in the water at 80MPH problem waiting to happen if you ask me.

I use the radius style that you cut that Imco also carries. Mine has a #16 an fitting. One for each intercooler. I think the radius design will outflow the 90 degree adjustable.

I talked to a few more people today and they said the pickups that are not a radius bend will restrict flow. Like the adjustable one from Cp/Hardin.Dustin Whipple recommended the Imco offshore style pick above . Even said it flowed to much and had to trim it. He said the innercooler is good to 100psi .So as long as Its not causing any extra drag I cant hurt the Innercooler.

This is what came in the kit .If any body needs them there for sale .

Rob, I installed two adjustable thru hull Hardin marine pickups
to feed each intercooler seperate. I bought two used gil strainers for 200 bucks. Flow is like this... Thru hull to ball valve 1-1/4hose to gil strainer to #12 to intercooler then out of intercooler is #16 to transom dump. I run two complete systems. I realize my application is different. I run water pressure gauges plumbed to the chillers, However I am considering plumbing the dumps on my starboard side so
I can view the output with a glance. The pressure gauges
read 9 psi at over 100. My thought with bigger dumps then
feeds was to reduce pressure spikes. I also need a way to verify picking up seaweed or something clogging the pickup.
thats the idea behind moving the transom dumps.

hope this helps
Gerry
