Omc renegade prop question
I've been testing different brands of props and all of them seem to have too much bow lift. If I dig the drive in deeper, I lose speed and I get bow steer. The stern drags or feels like it. Its a 1990 chris craft(heavy?), 460/king cobra. Would a 4-blade renegade offshore prop help lift the stern? Right now I have a chance to get one, but I don't want to end up with another spare prop. I'm not looking for speed, just good handling, and holeshot. Well speed is always nice Thank-you OSO

Can you give us a few more details about your boat, motor, drive and propeller(make and pitch)
What is your WOT RPM?
What is your WOT MPH?
Drive and gear ratio?

Re: Omc renegade prop question
Ok, it's a 1990 Chris craft open bow, 460/king cobra 1.46 drive. Right now I'm running a turning point ex 1421 3-blade. wot=4300 and gps mph=46-48mph. It cruises at 30 mph @ 3200. I like the cruising feel of this one. I tried a 14-1/4x17 and wot=5200 didn't get gps but I didn't like the feel. Really light in the front. Both test 2 people 50 gals fuel. Btw with the 17, it pulled the arms off of two skiers,at the same time, coming out of the hole! The mph were less I'd guess. The skiers are ok, but they told me to fix my prop issues.
