Re: I hope the powers to be can take another look at this
In the meeting I was involved with, the subject of racing with OSS in Destin came up. The subject of trying to make two OPA races SBI divisionals also came up. There will be a meeting in St Clair with the Great lake guys next month. The Rules, the options etc will all be voted on by that group and then decisions will be made.
NOTHING WAS DECIDED. The only truth I have read so far is 45 boats are
Pre registered and paid for OPA. Don't believe anything unless you hear it from Augie or Smitty

so IF MIKE is right that would be lets say 70 boats at the Destin worlds, how many boats would be in Key West???? Someone should be willing to deal here and it seems to me MAJORITY should be the deciding factor.

Ladies and Gents, I'm here to let you all know NOTHING has been decided and NOTHING is in stone. We (Smitty and I ) have given the OPTIONS that have been presented to OPA/The Jersey Boyz to our paid 2006 Racing Members. We are building a bigger Northeast Divisional Racing Circuit for the crews that can't run South every other weekend. We are trying to help each team with No-Entry Fees plus a 25,000.00 purse per race event. Not bad for a couple of guy's from Jersey Hummmmmmmmmmmm! So please, give us the respect as to only post what we said, not what you think we said or what you heard. Scotty B is 100% correct in his post #52. At our meeting we spoke about SBI/APBA as well as OSS. As of now we are speaking with everybody but in the end it's what is BEST for our association. Thanks, Augie...with Smitty's Blessing.

what a shame that the Jersey Boyz and OPA have to make a decision on which worlds to attend They have friends in both organizations, so I can imagine whatever decision they make, it will be well thought out and heartfelt as well.

Man we havent started the season and we are going nutz on the Worlds, let it be, time to move on, without a unified worlds in KW, the word World Champion is just good for the sponsor.

I'm a little confused. Has OSS revamped their rules to allow open cockpit boats? I thought OSS boats were all single canopy. How would most OPA boats rave with OSS under their current rules? Couls someone please clarify? Thanks
