Not sure if this title is correct. It should read POPRA continues with APBA.
Do yourselfs a favor and read this press release. It shows the willingness of APBA to do the right thing for the division(s).
As a POPRA racer, my hat is off to the board that negotiated these changes with APBA, led by Brett Seber.
In the print you will see that the $100 one race fee has been extended to all classes not just Performance, allowing for the possibility of a unification race for OSS and SBI racers without having to join APBA.
As well as extended our gratitude just to the POPRA Board (which includes OSS board member Bob Teague), APBA also stepped to the plate and made decisions on the spot, understanding the concerns of the division.
It is critical for any sanctioning body that the divisions stay strong as that is where the "superclass" racers of tomorrow come from. These two organization just took a quality step to ensure the success of divisional racing on the west coast.
Well done!

Brett Seber and the entire POPRA board have done an outstanding job putting together what will be a new era for Pacific Offshore. You could not have left the meeting Sunday without feeling energized and ready to race the 2004 season. So a big thank you goes out to the POPRA board, Bob Bull and Jim Poplin. There's going to be a lot of excitement on the West Coast this year.
