Got the boated tested today in GH and passed with a 85 with the elbows in the water about 3 inches. The elbows will work when we need be legal. I think the only areas are GH and Torch.

Where do you get tested, and did they do a full safety check? Did they give you a safety sticker? I thought I heard with the safety sticker they are "supposed" to not pull you over every time you go by.

Where you trying to tie up in the channel around 5:00-6:00pm that night for the fireworks? I think I was tying up at the same time and saw your whole ordeal...

In fact, was this you?

Did they pull you over again or did you go there specifically to get checked

That looks like a Powerquest so that would not be us, but the time is correct. I think we would have been OK but our anchor would not take hold so we had to relocate and fired the boat up in a group of boats and that echoed alot.
We've never had a problem and the test was not performed correctly.

I made an appointment to have it checked in order to waive the ticket. I have to laugh when the sheriff moved the location from the municipal because with the dredging and wind noise he said they would be to loud.

So, what's up with Torch Lake lately??? Are they cracking down on noise in the same manner as Grand Haven??? Just curious...and when did they start to really crack down?

Also, I will NEVER set sail in Grand Haven again...they ruined it for me several years ago....and looks like several other boaters feel the same----and it is really too bad, I really like the little city and harbor---it used to be a really fun boating area.

I can remember Offshore Powerboat Racing events from way back as far as the early 1980's....just incredible fun and activities at the Grand Haven Marina....Don Johnson, Chuck Norris, just to name a few big names....and people would come from all over....many boaters from Chicago....it is really too bad to have seen it all go away based on this noise bs, etc, etc....it really is sad to see the way it is now.
