Its official. According to Florida Group / State Farm President Jim Thompson, they will be not be renewing any marine policies effective immediately in the State of Florida.

They are being selective in what they want to insure. I feel that we should selectively boycott State Farm. Maybe they will wake up when they realize that there is risk in the insurance business. They only want the sure thing and that is premiums with no payout. Maybe they should consider getting into another business.

I boycotted them years ago. It does seem true that they don't want risk.

I've been seeing a lot of these non-renewals coming through lately. Just a bit of advice.... do not wait until the last minute. If you have gotten a non renewal letter from State Farm you should start searching for alternatives long before the policy cancels/non renews.

SF Blows - Me, My Parents, and My Brother had 3 homes with them, 11 or 12 cars, and Zero Claims in about 40 combined years - they said they would insure my Cafe Racer, then they dropped it on July 3rd. Pissed me off since there are several other members on the board that insure the exact same boat with SF. I've never even had a moving violation ticket, much less anything worse.

Really pissed me off that they didn't want the business. I moved my business to Stacy and am glad I did. **** State Farm....
