My Merc reps have agreed to assist in location & consult with install.
fuel tank is almost completed.
Will leave the sight glass in floor but not in tanks as the supplier can't be located.
Any one needing a replacement tank PM me for a quote. We are very good at tig welding...
Our sewing shop is completing patterns for interior cushions this week, still looking at fabrics & vinyls.
I just can't get my head around the candy strips
Also torn on going with rebuilt original windshield vs low profile plexi??
Also thinking about eliminating the existing bow rail.
Have seen pictures of Dade county police versions with forward radar arch but no bow rails.
Thanks for input and advise...
Candy strips is a acquired taste, I'm just hung up on old school. The tall windshield is functional but a low wind screen looks just right. I really like the look of 27sedan's sedan, very clean.

I Spoke to soon on the good Transom.
Deep in the V and a few other areas we found wet rotting wood. Though most of the transom is dry.
The holes were definitely plugged & the motors raised 2.5 inches after initial install.
Wonder if Roger has any insight as to when that may have happened.
Will be putting it back in in overlapping pieces as we are not removing the cap.

Nice project, congrats so far. You mentioned raising the motors, remember you will gain x-dim going to a merc drive. When I swapped from trs to bravo I gained over 2", not sure what it is from volvo. So you should not need to use a shorty lower. After a lot of consultation we went with a 17" x dim which I think is perfect ( planes out well, good trim response etc) Unless you got some real deal on the xr's, regular bravos should be fine with the motors you mentioned. Just my 2c.

What color paint are you doing?

Thanks for inputs. Cockpit is going to be white. Not sure on outside hull & deck colors. I like the old school purple & the yellow its in. But I'm leaning towards going with a wrap including both colors for a few years until I decide a final color scheme.

Well here are some parts that are coming off the Magnum. I have the steering helm & rams as well as the Mores bilge pump switch, The Trim tab switches ( I think ) see picture. Not shown are the throttle/shift control boxes that are also coming out.
As I have said in other posts I'm not restoring it but building it as a resto-mod. I'll be putting new 350 Mags, & all smartcraft fly by wire DTS controls so I will not be needing any of these parts.
I do have a question & that is can someone explain how the anchor locker works & with what anchor??
Also the water pick up needs replaced due to corrosion. It is a Wolverine Marine. Are there copies out there & if not what are other restorers using for raw water pickups? Thanks Carl
