[QUOTE=26awesome;3229147]What kind of prop slip numbers are you getting with your 36 CATS? My 2005 36 Nor-Tech with Bravos is amazing it is getting 4-5 % prop slip at 158MPH Herring 5 Blades. Old Hooters race boat![/QUOTE

Not happening especially with a bravo prop. You might get 7-8% with a speedmaster prop and proper x

I dont think it works like that....
The MPH/hp decreases with speed due to increased wind resistance and friction. Might very well be .0958mph/hp at 115mph, but it probably isnt the same at 160+mph.
I have no opinion on whether or not the boat really does 158mph, just pointing out some flaws.

no doubt
I agree wind resistance will be come a factor... once air resitance over comes the benifits of more pack... or less drag by wetted surface ...that said I would rather move air than water....
if anyone noticed
"the only variable unaccounted for is wind resistance"
until summer and Awsome spins a set of 38p props,no one will know if he has reach that point....
I have said from day one it should run in the upper 150's to the low 160's....
there is a gentman I talked to a bunch that had a 35 motion with 1200's, B-max drives it ran in the mid 160's
same boat , same motors and #6's could not break mid 150's
p.s. more pack=less wetted surface=less friction

Has not hit the water yet need to connect last gauges and buy props everything else is ready also the boat was never really titled it was just transferred mso to mso since it was a race boat and ppl who bought the boat where owners of dealerships bt now since its pleasure and i dont own a dealer if i want to take it on the water i have to title it they gave me a bit of trouble at the tag agencie bt i found a guy that might know what hes doing and get it registered in Florida
