Kooper and AMF did a great thing with OB. Unfortunately, it was short notice and OPA has a race in NY this weekend and couldn't make the trip. I can assure you, many teams would have, if they had no races coming up. What I dont understand is why no SBI teams showed. You guys havent had a race in a few weeks and I doubt many will show up in NY. So whats their excuse? No entry fees and prize purse. You should have jumped at that.

I think the package would have worked if people had more notice

What will it take to get you back on a race course this year?
When I find the time, I'll get back out there. Most likely, Point Pleasant.

Hopefully that time is sooner than later! You are an asset to our sport and have been a huge influence on my career as well as many others.

Most of the guys racing open boats already have their time and race schedule laid out for the year. Much like Bruce. It's a long way to tow not knowing if there will be anyone to race against.

Bruce,

Maybe I just haven't been paying attention...Who is putting up the P-Class prize purse for Destin?

Cant wait to finally race with you guys in Chat, dont know where I exactly fit in class wise but I am sure Smitty will place me apropriately(sp). Hope everything works out for the best and to race with ya'll again in KW, but like I said above its a hurry up and wait situation. Have fun and be safe in LI, NJ, and MD.

Rick,
Last year with OPA in Destin KW did have plenty of competition in the slower Sportsman classes, P1- 3 boats;P2- 4 boats;P3- 4 boats;P4- 8 boats; and P5- 6 boats. OPA would only make it better, but once again its up to the power that be
you misrepresented Class 2 by at least 50 percent. Having raced it and won it, I know there were at least 6 boats in Class 2.
