It is hard to believe that even a "used race boat" can leave the factory with, leaking fuel tanks, incorrectly assembled drives, missing trailer brakes not to mention wasted motors that only have "50hrs" and not completely painted.
At least the bottom didn't fall out....

Did I type that out loud ?

Dean, I wish you the best.
Hope to see you in Ocean City.

If we don't, then I am sure many OSO'ers will be glad to thank RF for you at the next boat show....

I am not sure if you did this, but as it has been repeated many times here on OSO, "SURVEY SURVEY SURVEY" prior to signing the deal.

One again, good luck and sorry for your loss...

This all sounds way to familiar.I just climbed out of my cockpit after replacing my fuel tank.Original was aluminum 1/8" and poorly constructed.Baffels were welded on the end only which allowed the center to move back and forth until welds cracked and created leaks.Of coarse the boat was built around the tank. so the entire interior of my boat was cut to pieces.of coarse the hatch is too small to fit seats and other stuff through so it all had to go through the fire wall.I built a new 3/16 tank with perpindicular and parrallel baffels, welded top bottom and sides.you could drive a truck over this thing.Weighs only 25lbs more than original.Painted it with epoxy and dropped it in.Foaming it in was alot easier than I thought it would be.Got the aluminum floor panels all fitted and ready for powder coat tommarow.Saved 50lbs going with aluminum instead of plywood and glass.well needless to say I will be busting my azz til the day before leaving for OC.Nothing new for the Adrenaline Rush team.Test time will be on the coarse as usual. Why aluminum instead of glass? Thats what I do for a living!Ever need anything fabricated give me a call.

Hey Doug you keep that up an you'll put us glass guys out'a business

Actually sounds like you made a pretty good trade off. Beef up the tank and lighten up the floor. Good deal there.

Glad she's coming back together. See ya in OC

That stung a bit but yea . . . the bottom is OK.

Sharkey it wasnt a matter of getting a survey. There we're some known issues with the boat and Dean and I sat in Wyatts office at Fountain and made a list that was supposed to have been taken care of. That list was largely ignored and the boat was delivered with only superficial items tended to. I am not posting this info to stir the pot further it is just simply what happened and its truly a shame that they felt this was the way to make the deal on that boat.

At any rate Dean if ya need anything (except your damn green boat) lemmie know.

in fairness I never had an opportunity to disscuss anything with Reggie. But like Dave said, all these items were to be corrected prior to deliverly by contract. I have been trying to remain polite but as the list keeps growing and Wyatt's help is non exsistant I had to spill the beans.

Hey Sharky, you think Mike would mind if I put a Huge Outerlimits sticker accross the deck?
