Default 28sr twin 250xs motor's extended cockpit

so what's your thought on this package ?
reason for 250's instead of 300 is fuel 87 vs 91 octane, and on the water here i can only get 89 octane or 90 max no ethanol.
i wouldn't think much more then a 5 mph loss @ top end with the 250's vs the 300's and 99.9 % of my running is cruising between 40 and 60 mph anyway .
im thinking the twin 250xs motor's should put the top end somewhere in the mid 70mph mark " any thought's :

thank's

mike

i was at the shop the other day and spoke with them ,
only one 28sr has been built and ran with a 525 efi and they got 78 mph without even tweaking the prop.
so i was guessing a little bit slower with twin 250's because of the extra drag .low to mid 70's would be fine for me .

I like your thinking and your math.

Should make for a great package.

Don't forget about the few TS CC's that went to South America. Those were all OB's. Should give you a better baseline to work with.

Mike, Dustin’s boat ran 64 on Gps with a pair of old Evinrudes (I believe 200's or 225's Pepe or Joe can confirm) in the back and older style props. You should see that low 70's in a new boat with newer style props (technology has changed on props big time) and stepped bottom no dought. I believe that it's a great boat. Dustin's boat also had the extended cockpit and very comfortable.

You need to also consider an extended cockpit twin 6.2 Bravo 1.65 ratio setup with FWC. If I was building new I would go 14" extended cockpit with the single 600 and ITS 2" shorty sportmaster.
