Running stock 575sci's with Maximus 32 pitch that have a bit of extra cup. Really too much prop as I only get to 4900/4950 RPM , would rather have a 30 pitch maximus.

Actually, as you know, there are a handfull of factors that all play into attaining that magic #. For sure the best time to go for it is early in the morning before you gas up for the weekend. That extra 1000 pounds sure has an impact.

Mac, actually I believe there is quite a bit up to the driver relative to top speed but the time of day , wind and current a;so plays a big part. However even with all that I was supprised the new owner hit 80. I was always frustrated that you guys all seemed to hit that range with the smaller motors but I just figured we had softer water, or sonething.
How is it going with your Viper. Any bites over the winter?

Jim, I took the Vyper off the market last spring for several reasons, not the least of which was the fact I love the boat. My biggest concern was how much TS Guns cost. 
Also, I have been very unhappy at my job and was unsure of what I wanted to do for employment. But I start a new job first of the year so we'll see.
