If it runs that good and is easy on fuel I would be hard pressed to do anything to it. IMO twin small blocks is a great way to go. Would consider a twin engine boat with small blocks in it for that...

No easy way to get 6 MPH without spending a lot of money. Griff's suggestion of focusing on the props makes sense to me - if max WOT RPM is only 4500 RPM that tells me you are slightly over propped....
