New Taco Rub Rail

Pulled the factory black rub rail off and replaced it with Taco's 2 piece Rigid base and vinyl insert. Very time consuming but worth it. Here are some pic's.

My peak HP was 529 at 5750 rpm. Peak torque was 505.6 at 4750rpm's So according to the dyno sheet, I need to be at 5250 - 5400. I consulted with Tyler Crockett today. According to him, my cams may...

Mopower,

Dunked the 272 with the new motors for the first time this weekend. Ran it with 26 B-1's and she would not turn more than 4600 rpm at 67 mph (gps). Although the motors have dyno time...

Thanks...Each dyno'd at 500 ponies plus some :D
I believe MOPOWER is running IMCO Powerflows on his 540cu inch motors. I can only imagine the acceleration his 272 has with over 625hp each.

Mopower,
Thanks for the tip. I just got off the phone with tech support at Formula. The correct lengths are 21' and 22' for the drive indicators. and 18'/23' for the K-Planes.

The motors dynoed...

Hey Mopower or Opie 272!

Do you guys know what the length of the drive indicator cables are for the drives?
The morse 33c cables in the boat don't have the any numbers stamped on the red jacket....

What about installing internal shims(stops) on the Trim Cylinders? This would limit total travel right?

I was afraid of clearance problems. I have to keep the ST platform for the kids! Thanks for all the advice. BTW, I'm originally from Long Island. Not too far from N.J. ! :D

Since your "further along the curve" with your performance upgrades, did you ever install the hydraulic steering?

If so, what company did you it buy from?

I should have both motors...

Thanks for the information. I believe I should be ok, the dart hp500 intake is about 5 inches and my arrestors are 4". Plus, I believe the 540's are taller than the 454's, right?

I forgot to complement you on the trick dash, jeezz, you fit every possible gauge in that dash! NICE JOB.

BTW, who made the white panels? Nice detail to the outside pinstrip too.
