Why do they break? when is it overkill? Most of the boats I'm looking at, that do say 60 or 70 don't have hydraulics. Some only have the one sided ram (I don't get that at all)

The gimble is torn off. On the gimble ring, the lower part that rubs again the upper lower unit rubs against, is cracked right off.

I think mine is the standard, it is on a 1990...

I think mine is the standard, it is on a 1990 boat and is the original drive.

Did your insurance cover the entire repair?

Not sure what this will cost, or will they right my boat off

Did he have hdraulic steering?

How would you have know that part was fatigued? (if it was a fatigue issue)
