There is only about 1.5" of space behind that swim plat and the top of the transom in the 280. Most speakers will not fit in there.

I have actually thought about putting mounts for my DJ speakers...

Thats a very small hole. Putting speakers in there is a lot bigger hole. Not to mention taking waves off the stern, might let a bit of water in and trash some speakers.
